Peta Libby, BSc, MAIG, MAusIMM
Managing Director

Graduated University of Western Australia, 1990.

Peta is a Mine and Exploration Geologist with over 17 years industry experience, and is Director of Digirock Pty Ltd. She has worked across a wide range of commodities, including Au, Ni, diamonds, iron ore and chromite. With WMC, Peta worked at Agnew Gold Operation's Redeemer and Crusader Underground Mines and on the Leinster Nickel Operation's Harmony Deposit for the Business Planning Unit. In the Pilbara, she has been involved in exploration for Au at Sipa Resources's Mt Olympus and Atlas Gold Limited's Farrel Well Project; and for chromite at Consolidated Minerals's Coobina Chromite Operations. Peta has participated in several exploration campaigns over Jubilee Mines Anomaly 1 disseminated Ni sulphide deposit and some of the initial deep drilling of the high tenor Alec Mairs Deposit.

Most recently she managed exploration at Kagara Zinc's giant Admiral Bay MVT deposit. She excels at exploration project management and field logistics particularly related to drilling and is expert at data management, validation and construction of 3D geological models. She is proficient with Datamine, Micromine and Field Marshall as well as the MS Office suite of software.

Peta's combination of mining, exploration and business planning experience gives her an excellent knowledge of the requirements to bring a project from exploration through to development.

Peta is a committee member of Geoconferences WA (Inc) which is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of Pre-cambrian geoscience through the running of conferences and symposia, and currently sits on the 5th International Arachaean Symposium committee. She also represents the AIG on the Earth Sciences WA Board and is a committee member and originator of the High School of Excellence for Minerals and Energy.

John Libby

John Libby, BSc (Hons), MAIG, MAIG
Non-Executive Director

Graduated University of Western Australia, 1988.

John is a Geologist with over 20 years industry experience specialising in the exploration for, and development of, metalliferous deposits. As Exploration Manager for PacMin Mining Pty Ltd (Tarmoola and Carosue Dam Projects) and Batavia Mining Pty Ltd (Gullewa Gold Project), he successfully oversaw large increases in resources/reserves, the definition and development of satellite orebodies and the completion of feasibility studies. As Senior Geologist with Normandy Gold Pty Ltd, he was a member of the team that discovered the Chariot gold deposit at Tennant Creek. During his 5 years as Senior Research Geologist at WMC's Leinster Nickel Operation, John gained an in depth knowledge of Ni sulphide mineralisation and komaiite volcanology, and specialised in the exploration, mining and processing of Ni ore.

John has worked closely with Metallurgists and Mining Engineers at operations and during feasibility studies to optimise the processing/extraction of Au, Ni and chromite ores, and to determine optimal mining and processing flow sheets for new developments.

In addition to direct industry experience, John has a very strong technical background and has co-authored numerous technical papers on the structural controls on Au mineralisation, Ni deposits and regional structural relationships in the Yilgarn Craton.

John is proficient with a wide range of industry software packages.

John is Managing Director of New World Energy Limited, an Australian geothermal energy company, and Director of Energy Fuels Australia Pty Ltd and Universal Energy Corporation Pty Ltd. He is Secretary of Geoconferences WA (Inc), a non-profit organisation dedicated to the promotion of Pre-cambrian geoscience, is Vice President of the UWA Geology Alumni, and is on the Executive Committee of the Australian Geothermal Energy Association.

Michelle Armitage
Manager - Corporate Services

Michelle joined the Digirock Team in July 2009 and is responsible for the coordination of all administrative and personnel functions throughout the business. With over 20 years experience in administration, 15 years of which were in executive support roles. Michelle first moved into the resources sector in 1987 working with Normandy Resources. Since that time she has continued to build her career within this sector working for such companies as Western Mining, Iluka Resources, Consolidated Minerals and Iron Ore Holdings.

Glenn Budge
Manager - Operations

Glenn Budge joined Digirock in December 2010 taking on the role of Manager – Operations.  Glenn has over 20 years experience in the resources sector having worked for such companies as Western Mining, Intierra, Plutonic, Forestania Nickel and more recently Encounter Resources where he fulfilled the role of Field Logistics Manager.  Glenn is a valuable asset to the Digirock team, overseeing the assignment and welfare of our Field Assistants, Graduate and Exploration Geologists and their client requirements.

 

Shelley Greener BSc (Hons)
Manager - Systems


Shelley is a senior exploration geologist with over 10 years experience in the Western Australian and Victorian mining and exploration industries. She has sound capabilities in gold exploration and resource development with knowledge and understanding of several deposit styles, including ‘BIF hosted’, narrow-vein hosted and ‘Tropicana style’ mineralisation. Her previous role before joining Digirock was Senior Exploration Geologist for a Victorian gold explorer in the Woods’ Point – Walhalla gold belt.


Shelley completed her Bsc. in 1998 and Hons. in 1999 at the University of Tasmania, with specific focus on geochemistry, mineralogy and economic geology. Shelley is a member of Geoscientists Australia (GSA) and the Gemmological Association of Australia (GAA).
She has been with Digirock for several years, initially as an exploration field geologist and currently as the Systems Manager, utilising her extensive field experience in managing the company occupational, health, safety and filed operational systems and procedures. She is proficient with Microsoft software, Micromine & MapInfo.
 

Shelley shares this role with her other full time job as mother to her daughter. She lives and works in Tasmania.
 

Helen Tanner
Manager - Training

Helen Tanner is a highly skilled geologist who graduated from UWA with a BSc (Hons) in geology in 1990. Helen’s experience includes Archaean lode gold, epithermal silver and gold, iron ore, nickel sulphide, Proterozoic copper-gold, Mississippi Valley Type and SedEx base metal deposits and Proterozoic gold exploration. Helen has been involved in all facets of the exploration process including field mapping, soil and rock chip sampling, rig supervision and logging, geological mentoring, resource definition, mine production, target generation and exploration management

Justin Benton
Manager - Exploration

Justin Benton is a 15 year-experienced geologist who graduated with a BSc honours in Geology from the University of Adelaide in 1993. Justin is a remote area exploration specialist and has worked in many logistically challenging areas such as northern Tanzania and Western Australia’s Tropicana and Great Sandy Desert regions. He has explored for iron ore, Archaean lode gold, base metals and tantalum. Highly experienced at supervising a range of drilling methods and exploration techniques, Justin is an excellent mentor, understanding the principles of diversity and equal opportunity to enable analysis and improvement of workplace practices and processes.
